Therapy for children, teens, adults, and families

At Kindful Place Therapy Center, we offer compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for people who are carrying too much for too long.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Your child may be struggling in ways that are hard to understand. Your family may be caught in painful patterns that keep repeating.

Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to face it alone.

Individual Therapy

Support for adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained

Therapy Session Discussion

Life can ask a lot from you. You may be managing anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, family stress, or the weight of old wounds that still affect you today. You may be the one everyone relies on, while quietly feeling exhausted inside.

Individual therapy can help if you are:

  • struggling with anxiety or constant worry

  • feeling sad, numb, or emotionally overwhelmed

  • carrying trauma or painful past experiences

  • dealing with burnout or stress

  • having a hard time setting boundaries

  • feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you

  • navigating a major life transition

  • trying to heal from family wounds or relationship pain

In therapy, you will have a space to slow down, feel supported, and begin making sense of what you have been carrying. Together, we will work toward healing, clarity, and more peace in your daily life.

Child and Teen Therapy
Gentle support for children and adolescents who are struggling

Smiling Girl Outdoors

Children and teens often express stress, trauma, anxiety, or sadness in ways that may not always make sense at first. They may act out, shut down, become irritable, withdraw, or have a hard time at home or school.

Child and teen therapy can help young people who are:

  • experiencing anxiety or worry

  • feeling sad, overwhelmed, or withdrawn

  • having trouble with emotional regulation

  • struggling with behavior concerns

  • dealing with trauma or instability

  • having a hard time at school

  • facing self-esteem or identity challenges

  • feeling disconnected from family or peers

We provide a calm, caring space where children and teens can feel safe, understood, and supported. Our approach is developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and focused on helping young people build coping skills, confidence, and emotional resilience.

Family Therapy
Support for families who want better communication and stronger connection

Family Playtime Together

Families often come to therapy when the stress at home has become too hard to carry alone. You may be stuck in the same arguments, feeling unheard, or unsure how to reconnect after conflict or hurt.

Family therapy can help when your family is experiencing:

  • communication challenges

  • parent-child conflict

  • tension or disconnection at home

  • difficulty rebuilding trust

  • stress related to parenting

  • repeated family patterns that are hard to break

  • transitions that are affecting the whole household

In family therapy, we work together to create more understanding, reduce conflict, and support healthier ways of relating to one another. The goal is not perfection. It is healing, connection, and a more peaceful family environment.

Specialized Support
Compassionate care for families navigating unique and complex stressors

Family Photography

Some life experiences require a deeper level of understanding and care. We offer specialized therapy for clients and families who may feel unseen, misunderstood, or especially burdened by their circumstances.

We provide support for:

  • postpartum moms who feel overwhelmed, isolated, or unlike themselves

  • immigrant and undocumented families facing fear, stress, or instability

  • foster youth and system-impacted young adults who have experienced disruption, loss, or trauma

  • neurodiverse children, teens, and families who need support that honors their unique strengths and challenges

Our care is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in respect. We strive to create a space where every client feels safe, valued, and supported with genuine compassion.

Kindful Behaviors Program

Building Skills for Real-Life Change

Family therapy

Sometimes families are looking for more than weekly therapy. They want structured support, clear tools, and a shared way to grow together.

That’s where our Kindful Behaviors Program comes in.

If you have a child who struggles to make good choices, or you find yourself unsure how to best support them, this program offers a guided path forward, without shame or blame.

The Kindful Behaviors Program is a 10-week experience for both a child and caregiver, focused on helping children build the skills they need while strengthening connection at the same time.

Together, you’ll learn how to:

Understand the “why” behind behaviors

Build emotional awareness and regulation

Support more thoughtful, intentional choices

Respond in ways that feel calm, connected, and effective

The program is based on the co-owner’s award-finalist children’s book Our Choices, and includes a complimentary journal to support learning between sessions.

If you have more than one child or caregiver, we can tailor the experience to best support your family.

Because real change happens when kids and caregivers learn and practice together, not separately.

Couples Therapy & Relationship Counseling
When you feel stuck in the same patterns—and want something to change

Couple's therapy

You care about your relationship.
But lately, it feels harder than it should.

Maybe you’re having the same arguments over and over.
Or things feel distant, disconnected, or tense.
You may be experiencing:

  • Frequent arguments or unresolved conflict

  • Feeling unheard or misunderstood

  • Emotional distance or disconnection

  • Communication that escalates or shuts down

  • A sense that something is off—but you can’t quite fix it

We support couples navigating:

  • Communication breakdown

  • Emotional disconnection

  • Trust concerns

  • Recurring conflict

  • Cross-cultural or generational differences

  • Premarital preparation

Relationships don’t struggle because people don’t care.
They struggle because patterns take over.
