Ligia Recinos, LCSW

Depression therapy

Support for children, youth, and adults navigating life transitions, stress, and healing

Hi there! My name is Ligia Recinos, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am a second-generation Latina and bilingual in Spanish. I come from a large Hispanic family with a range of life experiences, which ultimately led me to a career helping others in their healing journey.

I believe that when life happens, it can be overwhelming to cope with, and finding our “new” normal can be difficult. It can be helpful to have a safe space to talk about our experiences without judgment.

About Me

I have experience working in nonprofit organizations and hospital settings with children, youth, and adults. My background includes individual and group therapy, as well as consultation, assessment, evaluation, and case management for individuals with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and their families.

I have also created and facilitated workshops for our community and school settings on topics that support mental health and growth.

All of these experiences have taught me the importance of collaboration and creating a team for my clients. I am honored to be part of your team.

Who I Help

I am passionate about working with:

First-generation Latino individuals

I strive to create a warm, supportive, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and challenges.

Transitional-aged youth

I enjoy supporting clients as they navigate important milestones such as increased independence, higher education, career decisions, relationships, and developing a stronger sense of self.

Children

When working with children, I focus on creating a safe and engaging space where they can build emotional awareness, develop healthy coping skills, and grow in confidence.

Adults

I work with adults who are navigating stress, life transitions, emotional challenges, and the process of building a new normal.

Areas of Focus

I support clients with:

  • life transitions

  • anxiety and stress

  • emotional overwhelm

  • first-generation Latino experiences

  • cultural identity

  • family expectations

  • transitional-aged youth concerns

  • children’s emotional and behavioral needs

  • coping skills

  • emotional awareness

  • confidence and resilience

  • IEP-related support and family collaboration

My Approach

In therapy, we work on identifying triggers, processing thoughts and emotions, learning ways to cope, and practicing new skills in a safe and supportive space.

My approach is collaborative and culturally responsive. I believe healing happens when clients feel understood, respected, and supported as they move through difficult experiences and toward meaningful change.

I look forward to working alongside you in your healing process.
